What does your IP actually tell you?

Your public IP is the address a website sees when you connect. Your internet provider, a shared network, a proxy, or a VPN may provide it. DNS does a different job: it translates names such as vvpn.pro into records that help apps find servers.

Use the IP checker before and after connecting to a VPN, or use the DNS lookup tool to investigate a domain. A DNS lookup alone cannot tell you whether your VPN is working or whether your browser is leaking DNS.
